Reporting workflow: from dictated findings to a reviewed report

A practical guide to dictation, assisted drafting and clinical review with Doktalo reporting tools. Available controls depend on your clinic’s configured modules.

Begin with findings, not a polished conclusion

Record the observations and their location, distribution and relevant measurements. Keep the distinction between what is seen and what it may mean. The reporting clinician supplies and checks the clinical interpretation.

Dictate or type, then verify the text

When using a dictation tool, check patient and case identity, anatomical terms, laterality, numbers, units and negations. A fluent sentence can still contain a clinically important transcription error.

Use a structured draft as a draft

Assisted reporting can help organise findings into a template. Check that no observation has been invented, removed or changed in meaning, and that the interpretation is supported by the images and context. Do not treat generated wording as independent validation.

Review before finalisation

The responsible clinician verifies the findings, conclusions, recommendations and limitations before sign-off. Confirm that the intended language version expresses the same clinical meaning. Use the release process available in the configured application.

Ask for the right onboarding

Tell Doktalo which task you want to improve and which reporting tools you have access to. Ask for a walkthrough of your actual configuration before depending on a particular control or integration. Portal access and full reporting-application access remain different.

Interface wording and available functions can change. For case files, use the secure clinical workflow. For access or onboarding questions, contact the Doktalo team.
